Robert Blain built this one and one half story, hall-parlor
house in 1883. The house has a rear addition and one third
of the porch is enclosed. The exterior, shiplap siding was
locally planed by Ole Peterson. Robert Blain, a brother of
John was from England and was married to Jane Slack
and Melissa Barney. He was a farmer and eventually became
manager of the Spring City Co-op Store. He was also
a school trustee, postmaster, and partner in the Baxter &
Blain Mercantile at 190 North Main Street.
